![]() ![]() COLIN - lead singer/rhythm guitar "I started singing from when I was just a young lad. I've been playing piano since about age 5. I started playing the piano, and it was easy for me to figure out. I took two piano lessons at age 14, and couldn't be bothered by learning how to read music." "I picked up trumpet and guitar at age 18. I have been playing piano, organ, and guitar intently ever since. I like to play any instrument I can get my hands on." MUSICAL INFLUENCES Colin's musical influences are mainly original Jamaican musicians from 1961 through 1976, such as "Ken Boothe, Desmond Dekker, Alton Ellis, the list goes on and on." Colin's non Jamaican influence is 1960's American soul music. "I am also influenced by early rock and roll, jazz, and blues... too many to list." FUNNIEST BIG SOUND MOMENT: "I would have to say, when we played on the KUSI Morning News show, they showed Chainsaw, on the air, shaking his tamborine so hard, that he managed to get a blister from one song. That was pretty damn funny!!" WHAT COLIN LIKES TO DO BESIDES MAKING BIG SOUND: When he's not making skarocksteadyreggaeskinheadreggaesoul with The Big Sound, you will find Colin surfing.
