Cyrus Audio have smashed their kickstarter campaign target of £50,000 on the first day!
The Cambridgeshire based audio company recently announced that they will be developing a new, small inline portable DAC (digital to analogue converter) to improve the audio quality from mobile phones and computers. The matchbox sized DAC will connect to Android devices via the supplied micro USB cable.
I’m sorry Apple owners, but, you will need to purchase the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter from Apple priced at £25 in order to connect the SoundKey to your device.
The SoundKey will bypass the internal DAC of your portable device by taking the raw digital data files and using the superior Cyrus DAC to convert them to analogue.
“There’s a whole new generation of music lovers who just don’t know how good the music on their phones can sound, as it’s let down by the low quality DACs and amplifiers employed in the phone. The Cyrus engineers, using their 30 years experience building products that provide a better music experience, have come up with a world-beating solution in the diminutive SoundKey.”
Cyrus are not only relying on sound quality to beat the competition but claim the ultra low powered SoundKey will draw much less battery from your mobile device than its rivals.
The SoundKey is expected to ship in November 2016 with a retail price of £99.
